Turns out Obama IS going to Copenhagen, not just sending his wife and Valerie Jarret.

“Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to the president, told the Associated Press on Monday morning that Obama will leave Thursday and join his wife, Michelle, in Copenhagen, where they’ll make the pitch to the International Olympic Committee. Obama would be the first U.S. president to actually appeal in person to the International Olympic Committee for an Olympics event.”
Exciting development and hopefully a solid boost to cement Chicago’s bid!

Years ago I had a chance to see the local Chicago play – Streeterville. I think it may have only been performed for one month back in 2001.
Anyway, see the link below for a lot of historical information about “Cap Streeter” and his epic, decades long attempt to de-annex himself and his swamp and stuck boat from Illinois and host a whorehouse and drinking establishment on Chicago’s lakefront.

This is the story of how this patch of land became known as Streeterville. A hundred years ago when you mentioned the neighborhood Streeterville people would have a very different impression than today!

This is not my listing but I get to show it to a potential client this Monday and just noticed that it is under contract now. I like the layout of this unit as it is a split two bedrooms and it has lots of lake views. The asking price is $489,000, which is very reasonable. This unit has around 1,450 square feet with nice size bedrooms. I am glad to see it is under contract.

This is not my listing, I showed this unit a couple of months ago to a potential buyer. This unit is very well maintained and it has a very large size kitchen with fire place in the living room. Lots of detailed decorations, it has around 1,028 square feet. A nice size balcony facing the north. My client does not like the view only as it is kind of blocked in by other buildings around it. But I really like the interior of the building and the unit.

This is a new building in the center of the streeterville. I have brought my clients to see 1 – 2 bedrooms units in the building. The units have floor to ceiling windows, balcony, very nice designer kitchen and bathrooms. Right now they are offering around 8-10% discount of their asking price. The building location is the best, they just built a park right below the building. Walking distance to restaurants, AMC theaters, Navy Pier and more. This is the perfect location for residents and doctors since it’s only a few blocks to the Northwestern hospital. Right now they are offering very cheap parking options, such as $125 per month which is almost half price of the nearby locations.

This is not my listing but I showed it to one of my clients last week. The unit has wood floor, nice kitchen and bathroom. But the view is to another building, that’s the reason my client does not like to move forward. The asking price is $299,999 but you have to purchase a parking spot of $45K, so that means the asking price is $345K. It is still a good buy for a new building.

These two bedrooms unit is not my listing but I noticed that the price has dropped significantly. The listing price is $399,900 with a parking spot. The unit looks very nice on the pictures, with wood floor through out, new designer kitchen, nice bathrooms, a large balcony. It has mentioned is a estate sale, this is really looks like a good deal! Too bad that I do not have any clients who are ready to buy it:-)
